First release which supports Oracle Java 8 only (jFed 5.3.2 will continue to support Java 7):

  • full support for Java 8, which works more stable, especially on linux
  • webstart checking for right Java version
  • allow ethernet links in w-iLab.t testbed (the new DSS nodes have 1 gigabit ethernet experiment interface besides the control interface)
  • one can also save the X.509 PEM file now to change e.g. the password
  • jFed experimenter CLI has been further improved with extra options so it is really production quality now (see documentation how to use it)
  • completely new monitoring dashboard with lots of details added and with smoother email support (only send an email after a number of consecutive fails and with dependencies)
  • now possible to choose which manifest RSpec to save in a multitestbed experiment (before it was only the combined manifest
  • improved and faster connectivity tester
  • support for mate ssh terminal on Mint linux
  • improved preferences dialog box with more options
  • a lot of other bug fixes and small improvements, in total about 90 tickets were closed for this release
